At 193 pounds, I was technically obese on the BMI (body mass index) chart. My doctor has been trying to get me to lose weight, but I just wasn’t in the right mindset before. Earlier this year, my heart started racing and I found myself short of breath walking into work. It was a bit of a scare. After that, I finally had the mindset to make some changes. ZP Challenge appealed
to me because it encourages you to do different things to get healthier, and I need to lose the weight for my health. The chance to win prizes is always a plus. I walk a lot of steps at work and I’m walking more off work, too. I’m tracking all my food. I plan ahead and I eat moderately. If you stick close to the plan, you can have something extra sometimes. My husband, Ralph, has supported me all the way. He’ll tell me to think twice before I do something bad, and he’ll eat some of my mashed potatoes for me! My original goal was to get under 150 pounds, but now I weigh 138! For the first time in my life, I’m “normal” on the BMI chart. I feel so much better. I can cross my legs when I sit down — that’s a big thing for me! I’m going to go ahead and say that I’m “skinny,” which is so exciting to me.

• I’ve lost 55 pounds — about ve more than my original goal!
• ZP is an opportunity for individuals to pick what will work for them personally.
• I’m shopping at the thrift stores for my new wardrobe.
• It’s really exciting to have lost this weight. I can’t tell you how happy I am!

This has all been so unexpected. My acid reflux has gone away and I’ve been able to stop taking those medications. I’ve been able to cut my cholesterol and my arthritis medications in half. My hips and knees are way better. All from losing this weight. Everything in my wardrobe is too big. ZP Challenge is such a good way to encourage you to be accountable in many different ways, like saving money. When I’m buying clothes for my new wardrobe, I know I’m saving money shopping at the thrift stores. I “buy it forward,” and if I see clothes a few sizes smaller than I am now, I buy them ahead of time. I know I’m saving more money that way, especially when it comes to buying work pants. We take care to watch our FInancing. We pay off the bills before we buy anything else, and we try to only buy things when we need them. ZP is a great opportunity to make all kinds of different, better choices and stay encouraged by giving yourself all those points on the app. It’s great knowing we have this program to help us be better.
