I’ve always been heavy. I would try to lose weight and fail again and again. Stacey Collins started a healthy living challenge here at our store and I read the ZP stories. You realize that there are lots of people going through the same things you are. With the ZP app, I’m able to track what I am eating and the better choices I make. With the app and the community support, I realized that I can do this. I can lose the weight. I’ve lost 45 pounds and two clothing sizes so far. I make sure to stay busy and active. I feel better. My husband and I go for walks. He’s lost 15 pounds, too. Since ZP, I’m no longer pre-diabetic. The most exciting thing is to know that I can do more. I can make myself better for my future.
What would you tell someone new to ZP Challenge?
You just start. Make some healthier choices. You’re going to notice the changes and they’ll become better habits. Small, positive changes compound and become big, positive changes. My husband is getting so much out of ZP, too. We’ve grown closer. We go outside and do things together. We plan our meals and watch our portion sizes, so I’m also able to stay on a budget. I feel so much better about myself. I’ve accomplished way more than I ever expected. It’s amazing what can happen with ZP.
Were you surprised to win $5,000 in ZP Challenge?
I can’t believe it. I couldn’t believe I had made it into the top 100 finalists. It’s so unexpected to have won. I was blown away. It feels so amazing to be recognized for my accomplishments. I’m so honored. I’m truly grateful for my family, Stacey Collins and all my associates here at the store, my friends, ZP and definitely Walmart for supporting me while I try to be a better me. It’s amazing to know, for real, that by supporting each other and making better choices, anyone can change his or her life.
