When my weight hit 400 pounds, I decided it was time to start making some changes and find ways to better myself. I wanted to lose weight, but I also focused on saving money and have even gone back to school. At work, I walk up to 10 miles a day. That’s definitely helped with the weight loss. But on days I’m not at work, I try to make sure I’m riding my bike or walking to keep up with my steps each day. Thrive with ZP is a great reminder to stay on track with all of my better choices. My weight is now down to 226 pounds. After losing all that weight, I had to buy a whole new wardrobe. It felt wonderful to see those new sizes. I also have more energy and that’s helping me keep up with my 5-year-old niece!
• It feels unreal to be named a Thrive ZP Challenge Texas $2,000 Winner!
• I’ve lost 174 pounds since I started making better choices.
• Walking rather than driving helps me get extra exercise.
• Prioritizing my purchases helped me save money for a car.
I used to eat a lot of fast food and fatty foods. Now I’m choosing leaner proteins like fish, turkey or venison. I’ve also swapped out calories from carbs for more plant-based options and am eating more vegetables in general. There’s definitely a lot more salads in my diet these days, but I’m also finding ways to use zucchini, eggplant and spaghetti squash. When I started making changes, I never imagined it would lead me here or that I would become a Thrive ZP winner. I feel good in all aspects of my life and am grateful for where I’m at and the opportunity I’ve had. With Thrive with ZP, I’ve learned that you have to set your goals, keep working toward them and do it for yourself and not anyone else. I just hope my experience helps inspire others to make better choices too!
